As you know, 23 million gallons of oil flow through the two pipelines in the Straits of Mackinac every day. A spill in that location would have a devastating impact on the Great Lakes and the economy of the surrounding states. On September 27, 2016, Enbridge identified several potential 'holidays' on the pipeline where there may be a loss of protective coating around the pipe. We urge you to review Enbridge's work plan in an expedited fashion so these vulnerabilities can be investigated as soon as possible.

In 2017, 53 JCCs in 26 States, including West Bloomfield, Michigan, have been targeted
We urge the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice to swiftly assess the situation and to advise Congress on what specific steps are being taken, or will be taken, to deter such threats from being made, to identify and prosecute the perpetrators for violations of federal criminal laws, and to enable JCCs to enhance security measures such as physical barriers and guards, in the event that an individual seeks to act upon these threats.

Our constituents have felt the negative impact of this misguided law. As big banks get bigger and community banks continue to close, Americans are finding it harder to access mortgages, business loans, and affordable checking. It's time for relief. This critical first step will get small community banks and credit unions lending again, businesses hiring again, and restore homebuyers' access to affordable financing options. It's time to get Washington out of the way and promote truly responsive and responsible financial practices.

Co-chair of Congressional Macedonia Caucus stands strong with the nation of Macedonia
Macedonia has been a critical partner in advancing U.S. national security efforts around the world. Furthermore, the Macedonian diaspora in the United States has been a critical part of our community and has contributed to the diversity and advancement of our entire nation. A sovereign and strong Macedonia and Macedonian people serves to benefit our mutual interests and we must support, not undermine, our important ally.

Letter to Canadian Minister Freeland highlights Trott’s, Oakland County’s, and 23 million people’s opposition
Representing one-fifth of the world’s fresh surface water, the Great Lakes are one of the most critical and sensitive ecosystems in the world, and I am alarmed by Ontario Power Generation’s plan to bury nuclear waste within a mile of their shores.

Judge Gorsuch has some big shoes to fill, and I am confident, that as he progresses through the nomination process, the Senate will find him an experienced legal mind, a staunch protector of the Constitution, and someone worthy of this prestigious seat on the Supreme Court.
January 27, 2017 Press Release
"Since the inception of our great Republic, America, a beacon of light, has stood with the world's most vulnerable people. The United States' diplomatic leadership has long played a meaningful and material role to the aid of religious minorities. These embattled groups, no strangers to persecution, are now facing an existential threat, exacerbated by the rise of ISIS and other militant groups. With reports of material aid not reaching the intended recipients, bureaucratic red tape creating various hurdles, and the repeated failure of international bodies to provide a timely and adequate response, we hope your administration will take the lead in advancing the interests and preserving the rights of these embattled people."
