Press Releases

November 16, 2017 Press Release
For decades, our nation's antiquated tax code has hindered American economic growth and hurt our global competitiveness. That's why today I supported legislation that delivers real tax relief to those who need it most-hard-working families and small business owners in Southeast Michigan and throughout the country.

Rep. Trott supports 2.4% pay raise in NDAA that bolsters military readiness
Our nation's servicemen and women, without hesitation, put their lives on the line every day to protect ours. Upon returning home, we must ensure they have the ability to easily transition back into civilian life. Veterans who have refined skills on the battlefield have earned nothing less than our full support in transitioning those skills into a rewarding civilian career. I'm proud my colleagues from both sides of the aisle have come together to show our unwavering support for them.

Legislation clears final hurdle before Floor vote with unanimous, bipartisan support
These doctors, and all those who commit these horrendous crimes against innocent children across the country, must be held accountable for their unconscionable actions. We must protect our girls, and this legislation increasing the federal penalty is critical to eradicating this barbaric practice from our communities.

Safety concerns are nationwide issue that must be addressed
These incidents and the safety concerns that accompany them are not an isolated event but a national issue, one that should be scrutinized by Congress. I met with CSX in Washington and in my district over a year ago, and they promised to address this problem. If CSX will not take substantive steps to resolve this serious situation, we will.

Trott: Mr. Camp is a model of safety and customer service
Driving over a million miles and transporting over 5 million packages, Mr. Camp serves as a model of conscientious driving and safety. Perhaps, the only thing more impressive than his driving record is his passion for excellent customer service, one that our neighbors recognize and appreciate each and every delivery.
October 13, 2017 Press Release
In Michigan, the heartland of our nation's domestic auto industry, legislation that decreases the burden placed on the auto industry, helps provide more loans for American families, and provides greater clarity and access to information for automotive consumers is a good deal for everyone. I look forward to the full House's consideration of this common-sense legislation.
October 5, 2017 Press Release
In our nation’s hospitals, technology has helped provide better quality and more efficient health care, but the perpetual evolution of technology – its greatest strength – is also its greatest vulnerability. Since 2009, the health care data of over 127 million Americans has been compromised by cyber criminals, and existing security frameworks continue to leave this information vulnerable by failing to adapt to technological innovation.

Withdrawal comes on heels of House’s passage of Trott’s legislation calling for rejection of weapons sale
I applaud today’s decision by the administration to withdraw from this proposed arms deal which would have benefited these same bodyguards – a deal that would have been nothing short of an endorsement of their brutal attack.
