Walled Lake HS Student’s Artwork Displayed in U.S. Capitol

WASHINGTON – Today, U.S. Representative Dave Trott (MI-11) issued the following statement after announcing the winners of the Congressional Art Competition for Michigan’s 11th District:
“Each year, I sponsor a district-wide high school art competition to recognize the immense talent of so many young people across Southeast Michigan, and every year their creativity and eye for art brings tremendous pride to our entire community. This year, I am proud to recognize one of the many young artists in Michigan’s 11th district by announcing Nathan Adkins of Commerce Township as this year’s Best in Show winner. His artwork will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol, where Members of Congress, staff, and thousands of visitors will have the opportunity to admire his marvelous work every day.”
As Best in Show, Nathan Adkin’s winning artwork, titled “Bridge to Nowhere,” will be displayed in the U.S. Capitol building in Washington, D.C. Adkin’s and a guest will be flown to the nation’s capital where he will be recognized for his accomplishment and have the opportunity to see his artwork displayed.
Winners are selected by a panel of experts, including local art gallery owners and local art professionals.
