Rep. Trott: “Mr. President: Stop the Veto Threats, Build the Keystone Pipeline”
WASHINGTON, DC: U.S. Representative Dave Trott (MI-11) today voted in support of legislation to authorize the construction of the Keystone XL Pipeline project—a job creating initiative that would create approximately 42,000 American jobs.
“President Obama needs to stop making veto threats and start working with Congress to advance job-creating efforts like the Keystone Pipeline. With 8.7 million Americans still looking for work, it’s time for the President to get serious about creating jobs. Hard-working families who are struggling to make ends meet want to see some real solutions from Washington, not more political games. Hopefully, the President listens to the American people and signs this bipartisan legislation into law,” said Rep. Trott.
With passage in both the U.S. House and U.S. Senate, the authorization of the Keystone XL Pipeline now moves to the White House to be signed into law. Despite reports from his own Department of State that the pipeline would support 42,000 jobs, President Obama has vowed to veto the legislation.
