Rep. Dave Trott Supports Effort to Create More American Jobs
WASHINGTON, DC: U.S. Representative Dave Trott (MI-11) today voted in support of legislation to authorize the Keystone XL Pipeline project. The building of the pipeline would create approximately 42,000 American jobs.
“This project will create the kind of jobs families in Michigan and all throughout our nation deserve. Yet, the Administration continues to stand in the way. Having seen firsthand how Washington regulations and bureaucratic red tape kill jobs, I know the best way to improve our economy is to get Washington out of the way. There have been enough delays. The time to act is now,” said Rep. Trott, a lifelong Michigan resident with a 30 year career of creating jobs.
The legislation supported by Rep. Trott would approve the Keystone XL Pipeline. According to reports from the U.S. Department of State, the pipeline construction would support 42,000 jobs and generate $2 billion in earnings in America. The Obama Administration has resisted approving the pipeline since 2008, despite the State Department’s Environmental Impact Statement identifying no reason to further obstruct the pipeline construction.
“Building the Keystone Pipeline will help utilize our natural resources in a responsible manner, create jobs, and improve American energy security. These are key ingredients in getting our economy moving again. The American people are hungry for solutions and this job-creating project is the kind of pro-growth action we need,” added Rep. Trott.
