Honoring an American Hero, Senator John McCain
September 2, 2018
On Friday, Senator John McCain lain in state at the United States Capitol, the same place where he devoted over thirty years of service to our great nation and the people of Arizona. Senator McCain was a man of character who bravely fought for our freedom no matter the circumstances or challenges before him— oftentimes despite having different ideals, he was known to reach across the aisle in an effort to foster bipartisanship among members. Senator McCain was guided by a belief that America is a force for good in the world, so long as we stick firmly to our principles. As a devoted husband, father, naval aviator, and legislator, it was Senator McCain’s welcoming nature and selfless service to others that made his 81 years so notable. Senator McCain is a true American hero and the legacy he has left behind is honorable without question.
