Being the leader of freedom and liberty across the globe, America plays a unique role on the world stage. As the world’s oldest democratic republic, the United States is recognized as a beacon of hope for oppressed and struggling people throughout the world.
Rep. Trott believes that it is critical that America continues its unparalleled position in world affairs and continues promoting human rights and freedom. On the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Rep. Trott is working to ensure that other countries abide by these basic human principles, while also advocating for the right to religious freedom of the numerous oppressed minorities in the world.
Like many Americans, Rep. Trott is deeply concerned about the Obama Administration’s continuing negotiations with Iran over their nuclear ambitions. The threat of a nuclear-armed Iran poses a serious risk to the security of America and our allies. Rep. Trott is committed to continue working with his colleagues to ensure that the world does not have to face the danger of a nuclear-armed Iran.
In the 114th Congress, Rep. Trott served on the Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Middle East and North Africa and the Subcommittee on Europe, Eurasia, and Emerging Threats.
